Assessment of the Compliance of the National Standards in the Field of Social Protection of the Unemployed in Ukraine with the Requirements of the International Standards

The aim of the article is to justify the possibility of introducing in Ukraine the international standards in the field of social protection of the unemployed and Blazer/Sportcoat develop recommendations concerning the compliance of the national standards in this sphere with and their adaptation to international requirements.There nalyzed international social norms defined in ILO Convention No.2 on Unemployment (1919), ILO Convention No.102 on Minimum Standards of Social Security (1952), the European Code of Social Security of the Council of Europe (1964), and ILO Convention No.168 on the Promotion of Employment and Protection against Unemployment (1988).

The results of the comparative analysis and assessment of the compliance of national standards with the requirements of ILO Convention No.168, which has not yet been ratified in Ukraine, are proposed.The scientifically grounded recommendations on the adaptation of national norms in the field of social protection of the unemployed to international standards are presented.It is substantiated that the national standards in MAG SMART LEMON the sphere of social protection of the unemployed are more in line with and take into account the main provisions of Convention No.168, and Ukraine can consider ratifying it.

However, in order to meet international requirements regarding the minimum unemployment benefit and its adequacy for ensuring healthy and sufficient living conditions, it is necessary to introduce changes in the national legislation.The practical value of the research lies in the possibility of using them in improving the system of social protection of the unemployed, harmonizing national and international norms under conditions of European integration.
